Creativity breeds creativity, culture breeds culture….
Within our work we use non-traditional theatre spaces to try and break the stigmatism attached to daunting and expensive theatre venues. We try to promote the work of other companies and larger venues in order to generate and channel the current interest into the arts and encourage people to seek more, to ask for more and to develop work themselves.
Since our inception in 2004 we have continually tried to work with as many new writers of the region as possible. They have included writers with significant work history through to graduates with little or no experience of having their work produced. Our aim in both cases is to develop a creative conversation between writer, director, actor and audience which is supportive and continually developmental.
We want to focus on the work of new writers as this is the best way to keep theatre alive and relevant – to keep listening to what being said and to keep looking at who is listening.
Although the main focus of our work is new writing we do enjoy working on an extant play and the challenge of 2007 is to tackle our first extant play.
