Welcome to the FIRST EDITION of Sustained Magic's Newsletter!

17th April 2006

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Introductions...
This is our first newsletter and we hope you will like it. Each month of so we will produce a new version and will send you all emails to inform you that it is ready to view. The design and layout of the newsletter will change over time as we develop ways of making it more interesting and detailed. For now I hope you can forgive any details that might not work yet.

The purpose of this letter is so we can address all of you that have taken an interest in our work since we started back in August 2004. Through this letter we hope to pass on information to you regarding our current productions, up coming events and to also spread the word about other groups out there that may be of interest to you.

We have tried to create this newsletter with a set structure. Each version will have the same headings and follow the same design. You may find that some editions do not have much in them depending on what heading your reading. I will do my best to put something in each section but you will have to bare with me if the some headings are a little sparse from time to time!

If you have any comments, have something you would like in the next edition or just want to say HI please email me: newsletter@sustainedmagic.com

Now, on to the news!

News...
Wow! Have so much news for you in this first edition!

  • First, you already know this is the new newsletter. Each month or so, depending on the amount of news I have to tell you, there will be a new copy of the newsletter sent to your inbox (and online if you have problems reading it within the email). I would be very grateful if you could tell your friends, family and colleagues that may also be interested in our work about our website and newsletter. The more people that know about us the more people will can include in our projects.
  • We are very happy to announce that we have received our first grant from the Arts Council! After a lot of hard work filling in application forms and sending additional information it has all finally paid off! The grant will be used to produce our next 'Pub Crawl Tour' or 'No More Last Orders' as it is known now!
  • We have also received funding from Leader+ and the Derbyshire Dales CVS. This funding will cover the costs of mini bus hire to take our production in to the Derbyshire Dales areas.
  • William Roache MBE has greed to be our patron!

Our Diary...

Matt and I are currently working hard to put together our next function room production. 'No More Last Orders' will be touring 13 venues over the East Midlands from June to July (something different for those of you that don't like the Football!). Keep an eye out on this site and future newsletters for tour dates and venues. We hope to see you there!!

We are currently working on another film project for the Sherwood Forest Trust. This film will highlight the work of the trust at three different venues over the next couple of months.

Up Coming ...

Our next production will be 'No More Last Orders' and will be touring June to July with a possible stop at the Buxton Festival.

We have a new internet based project starting in a months time...something very different, and experimental. Keep an eye on out the website for further details.

We will be starting our first 'Rehearsed Readings' project in Ilkeston Library early September time. Information will be posted on the site first so keep checking back.

Other News ...

Currently there is no other news to put in this section. If you would like to see something advertised in here then please get in touch via email using the address at the top of this newsletter.

To Close...

Hope you liked the first edition of our newsletter. I will make it better and more informative as I develop more of a style for it.

As you have seen we have been quite busy of the past couple of months and there is still so much more to tell. Keep a look out for the next edition of this newsletter.

Regards...James Glazebrook, Admin Director.
